American Blackjack

Card counting is difficult with six decks in this Blackjack variant. If you don’t get it, you should learn about card counting in Blackjack and other winning strategies. It’s basically the same as classic Blackjack, with a 3:1 payout when you hit 21.

Casino goers prefer the American style of blackjack. Unlike the European version, the dealer gets two cards, one face up and one face down. The dealer can see the hole card, but not the players. In this American variant, neither the dealer nor the players peek for blackjack. So they should play more carefully and use Playtech’s American Blackjack’s early surrender feature. Players cannot late surrender but can buy insurance at 2 to 1.

Because the dealer must draw to 16 and stand on all 17s, the house edge is lower (soft and hard). This blackjack variant also has the 10-card Charlie rule. To win against any hand except a dealer blackjack, a player must draw 10 cards without going bust. A 6-deck game like American Blackjack allows this.

The title “American Blackjack” is used by a number of different games, but the one developed by Playtech has the best graphical quality by far. It opens in a new window and displays the standard green poker table with the player’s cards positioned below the dealer’s hand in the middle of the table. In addition to the quick dealing of cards and the smooth operation of the game, the soft music playing in the background helps to create a pleasant casino atmosphere.

In this variation of blackjack, there are several fundamental rules that most blackjack players should be familiar with. Split aces receive only one card, and the dealer stands on a soft 17 when splitting an ace. This new release from Playtech is one of the few blackjack games that will reward you for hitting on a 10-card Charlie hand, which is rare in the industry. However, while this rule is not particularly appealing to novices or casual players, it may prove to be profitable for more experienced players.
